Minimal by Role Model

These are the posters for a song named Minimal by Role Model. The song is an anxious-ridden narrative of adolescence that discusses loneliness and the nation's common mental health crisis.'Let's keep it minimal.' This is the song's chorus, and it signifies that he (the singer) want to wash away his sorrows, even if only for a little while. The song's core phrases include lethargy, loneliness, worry, simple, emptiness, awareness, and broken. I experimented with typography on three posters based on the emotion topic.

Poster 1

The composition of the letters in a seemingly haphazard manner serves to encapsulate the song's prevailing sense of unease. Deliberately incorporated are select fuzzy typefaces, skillfully conveying a subtle undertone of both lethargy and solitude. Notably, deliberate interspaces between these letters masterfully encapsulate the hollow void emblematic of the singer's emotional landscape. Additionally, the strategic diagonal arrangement of torn sheets veils a portion of these letters, a visual metaphor mirroring the singer's desire to obscure a laden past rife with apprehension and isolation, as underscored by the song's resonating choruses. The meticulous choice of a crimson hue serves to amplify both the song's titular essence and the pivotal message the singer ardently imparts.

Poster 2

Within this poster design, the sagging disposition of the letters intricately mirrors the pervasive sense of lethargy encapsulated within the song's essence. Moreover, the deliberate incorporation of sub-lyrics in diminutive proportions, coupled with a strategically applied backdrop blur effect, collectively serve as a visual conduit for conveying the song's inherent restlessness and unease.

Drawing from meticulous research, it's revealed that the song's creator, Role Model, crafted his introspective lyrics within the confines of his own apartment during the twilight hours, enveloped in a contemplative haze about his personal history. This narrative has been ingeniously woven into the visual tapestry by way of lyrical constructs mimicking architectural forms. Notably, the judicious interplay of low and high contrast letters aptly mirrors the rhythm of windows on towering edifices. By selectively employing varied opacities, the letters assume the role of poignant conduits, with lower opacities adeptly mirroring the song's prevailing undertones of disquietude and fragmentation.
