Coraline (2009) is one of the unique animation that was directed by Henry Selick from the novel written by Neil Gaiman.

As the original movie mainly shows and deals with the buttons, I choose needlework as the theme for my reinterpreted Coraline opening scene. Therefore, the stage is set up with buttons, glass cup, needles, red thread and scissor; these are the materials for the needlework. And then, I made a scene where I dropped the button in the water and the red colour came out from it. This represents the blood from Coraline's eyes since the witch wanted to get her eye and change it into buttons. Lastly, I made this whole video in a stop motion in order to give ghastly and scary feelings.
